www.autoworld.com, 14 Oct 2005 "The HCD8 is a conceptual design model used to evaluate the design, package and proportion of the next generation sports coupe," said Chris Zarlenga, Design Manager on the HCD8 project. "The HCD8 has graceful, flowing lines. The surfaces of the vehicle have the volume and shape to retain some classicism of a sports car. We arranged the graphic components to signal strength, attitude and power," Zarlenga added....

"We wanted to contrast the rich, luxurious interior against the Ballistic Yellow exterior," said Zarlenga.

Architecture "The HCD8 pushes the architecture and package to the limit," Zarlenga said. "This provides a new and exciting proportion that can accommodate the needs of the concept," he explained....

"We view the HCD8 as an instrument to design exploration and design development, Zarlenga explained.

Press: 2020 Sales Goals

IMG_2864.jpg

Great Wall Motors delivered 1.11 million vehicles last year, up 4.8 percent year-on-year. It was one of the few Chinese carmakers that managed to hit their sales goals in the tough year.

The carmaker stepped up efforts in overseas markets in 2020. Great Wall Motors acquired plants in Thailand and India, and inked deals to rev up its investment in its existing facility in Russia.
The plant, with an investment of $500 million, started production in June 2019 in Tula, a city about 240 kilometers south of Moscow. It is the company's first wholly-owned overseas plant.

Wei Jianjun, founder and chairman of the carmaker, said going global is the only way for Chinese companies to grow stronger.
